English Class, The last post.

Personally, I don’t like English, I know the Spanish and I think that with it is sufficient but the university and the school think different and if I want to finish my career I need to finish this course.

I know that I need English for some things because today is the most universal language in the world but I don’t like the Germanic languages because his pronunciation is different than his writing and for this reason is more difficult for me because you can’t read it at first sight, the words have different conjugations and exist regular and irregular words, I think that English is a very difficult language but if you know how to speak it you have different options of work in other countries.

I like the English course in university, unlike school, in the university we don’t see contents, only we apply the English to talk, in the school we see the "to be verb" and other boring things, in the University, the first semester as well as the second is very useful because is how to apply the English.

But one of the horrible things of the course is the time, because to arrive late I need to wake up very early and is so exhausting, but I know that is the cost of pass all the courses, if I would live close of the university I would come at the time but I live in the south of Santiago.

So, in general I like the English course but I would change the time of the class, it would be perfect.

A very fun place called Art Faculty

I think that my career is a very good career, I like it a lot but obviously, it has some problems, first. I miss a specific test because I thing that careers like this needs another kind of test, I think that is necessary a strainer to choose the students more prepared for the career. After that are the curricular problems, I think that some things of the old curriculum are better than the actual things, for example the years of orchestration and arrangements, other thing is the teachers, in this university there is a problem because some teachers are immovable for example Charles Araya in piano makes a program completely different from the career search.

In relation with the workload I think that is the correct workload, the rhythm of the career isn’t very fast or slow, and about this I don’t have criticism.

The next problem of this career is his faculty because this place is falling, the cafeteria is horrible, and the edifice have very bad conditions, also it don’t have places for relaxing moments, the best place for this is the street outside the university where the people is in the pasta.

The technology will be a problem in 30 years when the Art faculty discovers It, in this moment many schools have digital board, but Charles Araya still use chalkboard.

In conclusion I like this career and this university, for this reason I chose it but it has that resolve his problems in the future.

Blog 7: My vacations

On this summer, I don’t have activities to do away, so I thing that I make things here in Santiago, I want to have time to study and do exercise, also I want to play some pichangas with my friends, watch some movies and go to free concerts. I found a work in a Starbucks and this will be so useful for me, to have some extra money to buy interesting things and to pay my classes of piano.

I want to play some music with my friends, and I want to write things that I have in my head, after of my musical things I want to rest a lot because I need it, this year in the university was great but very tiring.

I think that I will work with Palotes to finish the record of the first long play of the group.

I want to do many things but unfortunately my vacations will be shorter than other years because start at finish of December. If I have time I would like learn to play drums and electric bass to know the format of these instruments in the music that I heard and can write great things to other musicians, I want to compose jazz, funk, cumbia and salsa themes and now I have the music inside me only I need the time, for this reason I need my vacations now.

Places to eat

I prefer eat in my house, but when I don’t have a lunch I like Las Encinas casino, when I have money I like the picás because I prefer the homemade food, I meet a great picá here in plaza de armas and the price of the plate of food is 2 lucas, and the people attends you great.

But if you only have your junaeb card I recommend Tarragona’s Chicken, or salad Junaeb in Juan Maestro it contains one portion of lomitos, lettuce, avocado, tomato and corn, and have a cost of 1300 chilean pesos, about 2 dolars. If I want give myself a gift I can eat a Palena’s menu it contains 2 burguers, 2 sodas and 2 portions of French fries for 3 lucas, but personally I prefer eat other things. When I have money and I want so much food I buy 2 personal pizzas in telepizza, isn’t the best menu but is filling.

Other options are the locals of Portal Fernandez Concha in Plaza de Armas, there are some places with great food.

Personally I prefer use the money of Junaeb in supermarkets I thing that is better than eat in fast food places, and if you have the correct cashier you can buy everything.

I don’t now more places to eat with Junaeb card but I know places to not go, for example the casino in science of Juan Gomez Millas or the Casino of Artes Centro, both of them are very bad.

Street Art

When I was a child one of my dreams was makes graffitis, one time I took a workshop about graffiti and I learned to make my own designs, unfortunately I was bad for this, the plastic art is my kryptonite.

I like the street art because there’s free, for this reason the artist can made everything that he want and the people can see and reward it, I have many friends that make street art in metro, buses, parks or walls.

One of my favorites forms of street art is the Pasacalle because on this many arts take place at the same time, circus art, theatre, dance or music for example. Until the last year I made circus art and I made some street presentations, also I made street art as musician and is great.

Now I want to made street jazz because I thing that jazz is far for the people, I want to made new things because I think that the people is boring of the street art in the metro or in buses because It’s always the same.

In conclusion I think that this city it’s boring but the street art made of there something better, but as all the things a lot of something isn’t good. 

My way...

I think that the study of music never finish, always we can learn new things, after I finish this career I would like to take a magister in composition because I love the study of harmonies, and I love to create new things, also I want to learn to write lyrics because I’m so bad for this.

If I can I would like to study abroad, my dream is study in Berklee, in U.S.A., but if I can’t my second dream is study in Berklee, in Spain so if I can’t study in other countries I’m content with a Magister in this University… and honesty I thing that it will happen.

Other thing that I want to study is the Pedagogy in music, I would like to legalize studios in pedagogy in any place, only to make class in schools.

I would like to study my magister in person, I don’t like the studios at a distance, and also I want to study to know things of direction.

I want to study a lot of piano to dominate the 2 biggest schools, the classical way and the jazz way, the difference is in the eighth note, because the jazz have the swing eighth notes, and for this reason at general the classical musicians can’t play with swing and the jazz musicians can’t play at the classical way, also both schools can’t play with flavor, I want to play everything.

My Work

I study music theory, I decided to study this career because I decided to work in the world of music, for this reason, I wish to become in a great musician. Is a dream that one day I will work in concert and the people will say that I’m machine. Obviously, the work as musician is very difficult in this country, for this reason I will to take pedagogic studios, because if I don’t have work in my vocation at least I want to eat.

I think that if I’m great I could travel for the world playing my music, some Chilean musicians like Christian Gálvez, Jorge Vera or Melissa Aldana can live of the music and travel, Galvez for example lives in Chile but always travels, conversely Vera and Aldana are living away from Chile.

Other of my passions is the composition, I like a lot to study the harmony and the theory of songs, so if I can’t become in a great musician I want to be a great composer.

The salary always is a problem if you are artist, but the vocation doesn’t have price, feel the satisfaction of make music or play music y win money (not much) with this is a very satisfactory thing and I wouldn’t change for nothing.
